the poems in rupi kaur’s first book ‘milk and honey’ are not easy to swallow. talking about abuse is never easy. the poems hurt. they are terrifying. but writing them out is healing. for rupi herself creating this collection was cathartic. we shot ‘the recipe’ to envision ‘milk and honey’ as a recipe book for healing. making milk and honey the main ingredients.the milk is smooth. cooling. the honey is sweet. warming. the two of them combined creates a perfect balance.
